Nearly all of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad web site is available to anyone who's interested. However, this section concentrates the items that might be most interesting to a general audience that is not necessarily knowledgable about railroading in general or the Santa Maria Valley Railroad in particular.
Due to regulatory and insurance requirements, most of the railroad and its operations are not available to the general public. The Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad was created to help bridge that gap a little bit. It's a great organization to join to learn more about the railroad and also to get involved at some level.
One of the Friends projects is preserving the contents of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad's original blacksmith shop.
