Holiday Open House at the Santa Maria Valley Railroad

The Santa Maria Valley Railroad Company will be hosting a Holiday Open House at the Santa Maria Valley Railroad Freight Depot on Saturday, December 9, 2006 from 11:00 to 3:00. The Santa Maria Valley Railroad freight depot is located at PO Box 5665, Santa Maria, California.
Ring in the Holidays at the Santa Maria Valley Railroad freight depot, there will be displays and a book signing by Hal Madson, the author of Railroads of the Santa Maria Valley, and his latest book, Betteravia, Memories of a Modern California Ghost Town. Both books will be on sale at the Company Store. The Company Store will have other gift items for sale for that special railroad fan. Also the restored Santa Maria Valley Railroad caboose next to the freight depot will be open for tours.
SMVRR caboose No. 180 was restored by the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum. The museum will be hosting their 4th Annual Lionel Holiday Open House located on the second floor at the Town Center Mall from 1:00 to 4:30 in conjunction with the Santa Maria Valley Railroad Holiday Open House that day. The Santa Maria Valley Railroad is not affiliated with the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum.
