MOW Speeder Run

The Motorcar Operators West (MOW) visited the Santa Maria Valley Railroad for a "speeder" run today. More pictures are here on the Friends web site.
Every car is inspected before the run begins.
The safety briefing began about 8:30am.

Kevin O'Roark, president of the Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad, welcomes the group.
"When you're retired, this is the middle of the night!", replied Virlon Smoot, today's pilot.

Kevin took a group on a tour of the Betteravia townsite.
The northbound Coast Starlight went by about 3pm.
