Enjoy a romantic and historical night out at the Santa Maria Inn. Check in to the Historic Santa Maria Inn and then either take a walk through the historic carriage district or take the Inn's shuttle to the Santa Maria Valley Railroad's historic freight depot built in 1914. Check in for the dinner train in our reception area in the freight depot featuring displays and pictures of the railroad. Come on board the Silver Lariat, an ex-California Zephyr Dome Car restored to its splendor of 1948. The tables are set with white linen and fine china, just like the heyday of the California Zephyr Passenger Train. You will be served wine and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a delicious meal with a choice of two entrees, followed by a delectable dessert. The train will leave from the freight depot in Santa Maria at 6:00pm and head into the picturesque Santa Maria Valley. The train will travel 9 miles to the Guadalupe interchange and then head back to Santa Maria for a leisurely 18-mile round trip ride. 
After dinner, head back to the Santa Maria Inn to your oversized executive room in the tower section featuring bay windows, floor to ceiling mirrored closet doors, and English country style décor. The historic Santa Maria Inn offers the elegance and romance of a bygone era. Take a stroll through the lobby and check out the Old English Tapp Room and the Wine Cellar and Martini Bar. Go back in time when Hollywood entertainers stayed at the Santa Maria Inn on their way to Hearst Castle. 
A buffet breakfast is included the next morning in the Garden Room Restaurant from 6:00am to 9:30am. Afterwards, take a stroll around the Inn's courtyard with beautiful flowers and plants. The dinner excursion aboard the Silver Lariat, Friday night stay in the tower section of the Santa Maria Inn, and a buffet breakfast the next morning in the Garden Room Restaurant, tax, and tip are all included. $475/couple.
