The Santa Maria Valley Railroad ran the first ever Customer Appreciation Special aboard the ex-California Zephyr Dome Car Silver Lariat on November 9, 2006. Over 30 customers attended an excursion along the SMVRR with a delicious lunch as they toured the line from Santa Maria to Guadalupe. The engineer for the day was ex-Amtrak and Union Pacific engineer Jim McEntire (left). The conductor was SMVRR General Manager Dave Jennings (right).
